Not only do you have only 5 months left, you have to make sure you IT company has the time to get you on the schedule. Replacing 10, 20 or 30 PC’s takes time. There is the quoting process, then the ordering. When the PC’s come in there is the staging, then after that the installation, file transfers, account setup, etc. These things take time so please, do not wait until the last minute. You still have plenty of time to get this rolling. Start purchasing 1-2 PC’s for the next 5 months. At least it will give you a little breathing room in your budget. What Does This Mean?
When Microsoft sunsets an operating system, it no longer provides important security updates making the PC a target for hackers. They know how to exploit the vulnerabilities that are left open and can easily find there way onto your network. Do I really need to tell you what happens next? Downtime can kill your practice and can hurt your credibility with your patients. You don’t want to be a victim because didn’t want to replace the PC’s. Especially if you know you should. Be smart.
