I am hearing that the latest phishing attack has Venmo involved. I’m not surprised because a Venmo attack would get peoples attention. There are numerous reports that this is an ongoing attack that has users thinking money has been withdrawn from their bank accounts. The phishing email or text message notifies the victim of a transaction or bank transfer to bait a click and steal of your private information and login credentials.

It’s hard not to “wonder” if the email is legit. Especially when it involves your bank account. Just the thought of having your entire checking or savings account swiped is enough to make you not only panic, but take a peek at the email to see if it’s legit or not. This is very scary stuff and it preys on innocent people.
