Is the warranty of your PC expired? PC Warranties are important, and maybe more important than you think. The problem is, most people have no idea what type of warranty they have, and when that warranty has expired. PC’s can be purchased with just a one year warranty but the norm we choose is the 3 year warranty. People get warranties on TV’s, household appliances, and just about anything else that plugs in. Why wouldn’t you get on on your PC?

Is the Warranty Worth It?

Well, that is up to you. If you just went out and spend $1000 on a new PC and you are afraid it might break, then get a warranty. If you have a laptop that you know you are careless with, you may want to get an extended warranty. If you have your computer is a warehouse or other environment that may put at risk, you might decide on a different warranty.

What Happens When it is Expired?

You have a few options. You can either extend the warranty, replace the PC, or continue on without a warranty. It depends on how important that PC is to you or your business and how would you be if you were to lose that PC? Would a hard drive crash put you out of business? Would one or two days without the PC cost you money? These are things you may want to think about.

Create a Refresh Program

Create a good equipment refresh program that allows you to budget to replace all of your PC’s every 3-4 years. This is the standard for most businesses that don’t want to be constantly swapping out PC’s. If you do a good refresh program you can assure yourself that you will always have decent working computers that are always under warranty.

PC warranties are important and almost always overlooked.

Thank you!
