Allscripts to cut 250 jobs | Reposted from Healthcare IT News
Chicago-based EHR company Allscripts will lay off 250 employees across the company, the Triangle Business Journal reports.
The cuts are across the company’s services, support, solutions management and selling, general and administrative functions, according to the TBJ.
Sixty of the 250 job cuts will affect Allscripts’ Raleigh, N.C. employees, where it employs 1,200.
Back in May 2013, Allscripts CEO Paul Black announced plans to hire another 350 workers in North Carolina’s Research Triangle region over the next four-and-a-half years to expand its research and development work, but anticipated incentives from the state fell through.
Allscripts’ revenue for the first quarter of 2015 totaled $335 million – a decline of 2 percent, compared with $340 million in the first quarter of 2014, Allscripts CEO Paul Black announced May 7. He also reported bookings totalling $236 million, a 6 percent year-over-year growth.
“While total revenue declined in the quarter, higher margin recurring revenue continues to grow year-over-year and constituted 77 percent of total revenue,” said in reporting Allscripts’ performance for the quarter.
