Commentary:

Who would have thought back in March that our kids would still be doing virtual and distance learning? Honestly, I am still shocked. I understand it, but I am still shocked. Everyone talks about how important it is for our kids to be in school and I 100% agree but that doesn’t mean it is going to happen. We all know how important it is. Our children need structure, social experience and sports. I hate to admit it, but I never realized just how important going to school really is.

Virtual and Distance Learning

From what I am hearing from other parents is that there is a great appreciation for our Educators, and how they have basically “reinvented” school. They have done an amazing job in getting information out to the families and have worked very hard to accommodate each and every student. So why is virtual and distance learning a problem? Because many parents, myself included, limit the amount of screen time our kids receive. I truly hate to see them sitting in front of a computer all day, but on the other side, we are so lucky to have things like Zoom and Gotomeeting, whereas back in my day, we would just be sitting home.

Again, I will say how proud I am of our wonderful Educators who have had very little consistent information(because know one knows!) have put together a plan for our kids to go to school. THANK YOU!!
