Have you had anyone perform a phishing campaign for your practice? At Tier3MD we have been helping practices identify and educate staff on the dangers of phishing attempts by hackers and thieves. If you have not had a phishing campaign done, it’s time to go phishing!

Time to Go Phishing

As a refresher, the definition of phishing is:

  1. the fraudulent practice of sending emails purporting to be from reputable companies in order to induce individuals to reveal personal information, such as passwords and credit card numbers.
“an email that is likely a phishing scam”

If you have ever received a suspicious email from your bank, UPS, Microsoft or any other reputable company, chances are it is a hacker trying to fool  you. At Tier3MD, we can send out phishing emails and report back to you who opened the email, clicked on the link, and provided personal information.

In order to do this properly, it is good to tell the users that there is no shame in being fooled. These are PROFESSIONALS that spend an enormous amount of time and money trying to fool you.  The phishing campaign is just to make you aware and teach you how to recognize and avoid phishing scams.

Most ransomware attacks come in through email so phishing education is very important.
