Tier3MD attends Health IT Leadership Summit
Tier3MD’s Michael H Brown attended the 2013 Health IT Leadership Summit on November 12 at the Fox Theater in Atlanta, GA. http://www.healthitleadershipsummit.com/
Health IT Leadership Summit was created in 2010 by the Georgia Department of Economic Development, the Metro Atlanta Chamber and the Technology Association of Georgia’s Health Society. the Health IT Leadership Summit brings together leaders from across the healthcare continuum to discuss how the industry can drive innovation to enable better healthcare delivery at lower costs to more people.
The topics covered in the Summit were extremely informative and pertinent to the current healthcare environment. Ralph Hudgens, Georgia Insurance Commissioner was the highlight of “The Future of Healthcare Under the Healthcare Reform Act Executive Roundtable Panel”. He brought to light the reasons why the current insurance exchange system is failing to gain traction. Kristyn Greifer, MD, VP Population Health Management, Wellstar told how the ACO model is an excellent model in theory but in Georgia it still lacks the ability for all practitioners within a ACO to fully communicate in “The Accountable Care Organization Successes, Opportunities and Challenges Panel.” The Intel Innovation Awards proved that Georgia is a true mecca for Heathcare IT in the United States.
