On August 11, 2015, the announcement came that Symantec and Veritas split companies. This is a very good move for both companies. The Carylye Group, a global investment firm with a strong record in growing various businesses entered into an agreement to purchase Veritas information management. The sale is expected to close at the end of the year.

This split will allow both Symantec and Veritas to accelerate the execution of their respective strategies, and will allow them to grow at a more rapid rate. It will also allow them to bring innovation to the market sooner for both customers and partners.

It’s not uncommon for companies to split like this. At the same time, HP announced that it too will split companies. As with Symantec and Veritas, this will definitely initiate a much better, faster growth plan.
